Gary Haase, known to collectors as King Pokemon, has his graded Charizards listed on eBay as one lot, and he has raised the asking price several times since 2020. According to the listing, its description itemises 126 graded Charizards, offered together with Buy It Now or Best Offer. When we checked on 10 October 2026, the listing showed an asking price of US $59,000,000. It was last updated on 2 October and was still open.
Who is King Pokemon?
Haase has collected Pokemon cards since 1998 and was importing cards from Japan before they were available to buy in the US, according to Guinness World Records. Guinness lists him as the owner of the most valuable Pokemon card collection, with an estimate of $10 million. The record page does not say when that estimate was made. It is also not the same as the largest collection: Guinness gives the record for the most cards to a different collector.
King Pokemon on Pawn Stars
In the Season 14 episode PokePawn, first aired on HISTORY on 10 July 2017, Haase brought in his graded Charizards with an asking price of $500,000, according to Inverse. Rick Harrison passed and no deal was made on the show, as Looper reported. According to Inverse, the clip is one of the show's most-watched segments on YouTube.
What is in the lot
The lot is Charizard only, and Haase says in the listing that he will not break it up. According to the listing description, it includes:
- 1st Edition Base Set: 6 PSA 10 and 2 BGS Pristine 10 copies, plus 6 at BGS 9.5
- Shadowless Base Set: 12 PSA 10 and 1 BGS Pristine 10, plus 4 at BGS 9.5
- Unlimited Base Set: 54 PSA 10, plus 16 at BGS 9.5
- Base Set 2: 7 PSA 10, plus 1 BGS Pristine 10 and 1 at BGS 9.5
- Legendary Collection: 7 PSA 10, plus 1 PSA 10 reverse holo
- 1995 Japanese Topsun: 5 PSA 10 (2 blue back, 3 green back), cards that predate Base Set
- Specials: BGS Pristine 10 copies of 1st Edition Blaine's Charizard and the FireRed & LeafGreen Charizard ex, plus a PSA 10 Arceus Charizard
Charizard, Base Set
Charizard, Shadowless
Charizard, Base Set 2
Charizard, Legendary Collection
Blaine's Charizard
Charizard ex, FireRed & LeafGreen
The listing's title and description give different totals: the title says 97 PSA 10s, while the per-set counts in the description add up to 93. Archived copies show the title's count has changed over the years (it said 92 in 2020) while the description's list has not, so it is not clear which count is current. The description also calls several cards the only or first of their grade. Those claims are the seller's own, and we have not checked them against PSA or Beckett population reports.
How the asking price has moved
Archived copies of the listing on the Internet Archive show how the asking price has moved. In November 2020 the listing carried an asking price of US $19,977,000. By mid-2021 the asking price was US $21,000,000, and it stayed there until late 2025. By February 2026 the listing showed an asking price of US $29,000,000. In June 2026, Haase said on The Iced Coffee Hour podcast that his asking price was $49,000,000. On 10 October 2026 the listing showed an asking price of US $59,000,000.
The dollar figures in this story are asking prices set by the seller, apart from the Guinness estimate. A Best Offer listing can end at a lower figure, or with no deal at all.
